Subway’s Vegan Meatball Marinara Is Finally Here

Subway has joined a number of other food brands by launching a vegan version of its signature product: the Meatball Marinara. And yes, it is called the Meatless Meatball Marinara.

The sandwich is made from plant-based non-meatballs, smothered in the signature marinara sauce and topped with melted vegan cheese.

This isn’t the first vegan offering from Subway – the fast-food brand already had the Vegan Sub and the Vegan Salad, plus a number of Subway’s sauces are vegan, including Garlic Aioli, Sriracha Hot Chilli and Sweet Onion.

Talking about the Meatless Meatball Marinara, Colin Hughes, country director Subway UK and Ireland said: “We’re always shaking up our menu at Subway as we are constantly innovating. Our guests wanted a meatless version of our iconic Sub, so we made it for them.

“The Meatless Meatball Marinara is equally as delicious as the original, and a tempting choice for all our guests, whether they are looking for a plant-based alternative, or simply want to enjoy something a little different.”

Greggs has also put a vegan spin on a classic with its Vegan Steak Bake, which was released earlier this week.
