One of China’s most iconic holidays, the Mid-Autumn Festival, is well on its way. That means lots of time with the fam and lots of time to go to town on some fantastic food. This year, KFC is aiming to get in on the celebrations with their new Hong Kong opening, and more specifically, the debut of a Spicy Chicken & Nuts mooncake.
Traditionally, mooncakes lean sweet over savory (although many also come with a super salty duck egg yolk), so this will definitely be an interesting change of pace. According to Insider, this it’s KFC’s take on Chinese meat floss, plus “nuts, almonds, sunflower seeds, [and] peaches.” Yep, definitely going to need to investigate that.
